Monday: SSR, vocabulary, mindfulness activity, writing focus: positive moments, and continue watching and reading TKAM. Overview: Today will focus on continue reading and understanding TKAM. Students will also begin a new focus on mindfulness and writing. Outcomes: By the end of class, students will be more aware of mindfulness and its impact on our lives. In addition, students will continue to learn more about TKAM and relate that to their lives. Homework: None.
Tuesday: SSR, vocabulary review, mindfulness activity part two, writing focus part two, and continue reading, watching, and discussing TKAM. Overview: Today will continue to focus on reading and understanding TKAM. Students will also continue to learn about mindfulness and purposeful writing. Outcomes: By the end of class, students will be able to begin using mindfulness techniques in their lives. Students will also continue to make meaning and understanding of TKAM as they how this novel relates to their lives. Homework: None.
Wednesday: SSR, writing focus: looking through Scout’s eyes, grammar focus game: putting it all together (using all grammar techniques we have used throughout the semester), and continue reading, watching, and discussing TKAM. Overview: Today, students will demonstrate their understanding of grammar as they engage in an exciting competitive grammar exercise. They will also continue making meaning of TKAM. Outcomes: By the end of class, students will have demonstrated their understanding of grammar, and use that to creatively constructed a new level of writing. I addition, students will also continue to contemplate and making meaning of TKAM. Homework: None.
Thursday: SSR, TKAM project, and continue reading, watching, and discussing TKAM. Overview: Students will continue reading, writing, watching, and discussing TKAM. They will also begin working on their TKAM project. Outcomes: By the end of class, students will be almost finished with the novel TKAM. In addition, they will also begin working on their TKAM class projects. Homework: Review for vocabulary quiz.
Friday: Vocabulary quiz, ssr, continue working on TKAM project, and finish reading, watching, and discussing TKAM. Overview: Today students will be assessed on their final vocabulary quiz. They will also continue working on their projects and finish reading TKAM. Outcomes: By the end of class, students will have finished reading and discussing TKAM. Homework: Continue working on TKAM projects.
